Zhejiang Unveils Annual Assessment Report on Foreign Business Environment |

On August 4, Hangzhou hosted a thematic seminar and think tank exchange event for the Assessment Report on Business Environment for Foreign-funded Companies in Zhejiang Province 2024/2025. Scene from the exchange event Over the past year, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Zhejiang Provincial Committee (CCPIT Zhejiang) conducted on-site surveys of 1,599 foreign-funded enterprises in the province, held 158 symposiums, received 378 topic-specific feedbacks, and distributed questionnaires to over 10,000 foreign enterprises. A comprehensive analysis based on previously collected data fully evaluated the current status, challenges, and prospects of Zhejiang’s foreign business environment, culminating in this assessment report. Assessment Report on Business Environment for Foreign-funded Companies in Zhejiang Province 2024/2025 Key findings from respondents reveal that the overall satisfaction rate of Zhejiang's foreign-related business environment amounts to 96.09%. Profits remained a steady growth with 87% reporting maintained or improved investment returns in 2024. Most enterprises hold positive expectations for returns over the next five years. With Zhejiang advancing its high-level opening-up policy to build a strong economic powerhouse, the report highlights 6 cost indicators significantly lower than other provinces, as well as 5 service metrics exceeding a satisfaction rate of 94% (among which government services ranked the highest). Operational efficiency is praised by 93% of enterprises for instantaneous government responsiveness. A CCPIT Zhejiang representative stated: "Zhejiang continues to amplify its magnetic pull for global engagement. We hope this report will help international enterprises understand China and invest in Zhejiang." During the discussion session, representatives from universities, think tanks, local department of commerce agencies, and foreign enterprises delivered thematic presentations on optimizing and evaluating the foreign business environment. Co-organized by CCPIT Zhejiang and the Zhejiang International Communication Center, the event also launched the "Zhejiang Global Enterprise Tour" research initiative. Foreign influencers based in Zhejiang will walk into local foreign-related businesses, showcasing the province’s economic dynamism and resilience to global audiences. |
