       Founded in 1994China Shaoxing Yellow Rice Wine Group Co., Ltd. is organized jointly by Shaoxing General Rice Wine Corporation and Shenyonghe distillery , a historical distiller founded in 1664. The company is a state-owned asset management unit authorized by the municipal government and one of 520 key state enterprises designated by the State Council. As the largest wine production enterprise and chairman of Council of rice wine unit in China Alcoholic Drinks Industry Association, the company maintains a leading role in terms of the strength scale and economic profits.

       The group's total assets have amounted to RMB5.59 billion. More than 4500 employees are working for the group. Zhejiang Gu Yue Long Shan Shaoxing Wine Co., Ltd. (GYLS), as a result of the sole initiation of China Shaoxing Yellow Wine Group Corp., is the first listed company in terms of  rice wine marketing industry in China. The company  has an annual capacity of 140,000 tons of rice wine and owns 4Chinatime-honored brands, 2 Chinese famous trademarks, 2 Chinese famous brands and Guyue Longshan Central Warehouse which owns 250,000 tons of old wine. The company has a national top equipment for brewing yellow wine and provincial technical center and employed a great number of national masters of wine. In 1952, Premier Zhou Enlai personally granted funds to enlarge the central warehouse of “Gu Yue Long Shan” Shaoxing Yellow Rice.

Comrade Deng Xiaoping used to take a drink of “Gu Yue Long Shan” every day and have a predilection for it.

In Sept. 1985, Deng Xiaoping gave “Gu Yue Long Shan” rice wine to President Nixon as gifts.

In 1997 when Hong Kong returned to the motherland, “Gu Yue Long Shan” was listed as Special Wine at the celebration of comeback ofHong Kong.

In the summer of 1998, Special relief-carved “Gu Yue Long Shan” was given to President Clinton and his followers when he visitedChina.

In Dec. 1999, Russian President Boris Yeltsin visitedChinato attend Second Informal Summit betweenRussiaandChina, staying inBeijing's Diaoyutai State Guesthouse. During the dinner hour, Chairman Jiang Zemin entertained President Boris Yeltsin in Gu Yue Long Shan Rice Wine . President Yeltsin repeatedly praised it after tasting the wine. After dinner, Chairman Jiang specially presented Gu Yue Long Shan Rice Wine as a gift to President Yeltsin.

In Dec. 2002, Roh Moo-hyun was elected as president of South Korean, Gu Yue Long Shan gave a jar of Yellow Rice Wine as a gift to the South Korean government through the relevant departments.
